A glance at my practice

Here are a few of the areas my work touches on…

OCD

With training in ERP and ACT therapies I approach OCD with an informed, direct and responsible approach. In the room, we sit in the discomfort of the unknown, we acknowledge the intrusive thoughts and we work to create new patterns that gives you your life back—when OCD has taken over. Not here to reassure you that I am not mad at you but here to help you reduce the dysregulation those ruminations can cause.

Trauma

I approach all my clients from a trauma informed lens. But I also know that trauma work means sitting with and looking at the old stories and experiences that impact us in the here and now. By processing trauma, we can identify how it is showing up in your everyday life and work through it to, reducing the distressing symptoms and re-authoring your story.

Anxiety/Depression

Drawing upon narrative, relational and trauma informed modalities working with anxiety and depression our goal is to reduce your symptoms and create new patterns of thinking. We can ask the question “what story is the anxiety telling you right now” and allow the answer to inform the next steps.

Dating/Relationships

Relationships are not easy—they can highlight our hurt parts and show us aspects of our identity that we haven’t seen before. Dating can make us insecure, avoidant, anxious, have us overthinking sending a text, agonizing over a response. As a therapist I want to support you in navigating those emotions as they arise—identifying patterns in your life that contribute to dissatisfaction and work to create new ones that benefit you and help you attach to the relationship that is right for you.

Transgender Support and Advocacy

I have worked as a therapist supporting transgender youth and adults throughout my career. I help my clients with identity work, conversations with friends and family and offer Gender Affirming Surgery letters for those inquiring.

Socio Political Processing

More than ever, clients are coming into the room with a lot of feelings around the state of our country and world. I am not passive in these conversations—we will process the feelings, acknowledge the anger and find ways to support ourselves and others during these times
