Let me answer some questions…

do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance but offer super bills that can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement.

What does a first session look like?

I see the first session as an opportunity to get a window into what is bringing you into the room. For some people that means starting at the very beginning and for others it’s what has happened that day. Either way, I want you to practice taking up space and getting comfortable. So don’t feel the need to remember every detail from 6th grade or offer a comprehensive recount of your family medical history, let’s start with today and go from there. I want you to get to know me too.

Social Media, Internet, Etc:

I have both personal and professional social media platforms that I use in addition to online visibility. Clients are welcome to follow my professional Instagram if they wish to interact with more therapeutic content. You can’t believe everything you read on the internet, if you ever have questions feel free to bring them into the therapeutic space. I am open and appreciative of the moments of transparency in therapy that can remove limitations to the success of your work in the room.

Dual Relationships:

Despite the population of Los Angeles being three million people, sometimes it can get very small. If it comes up that we have a mutual friend, shared community or even run into each other at Trader Joes, I will always work to maintain appropriate boundaries and open communication around this. I am involved in community organization and volunteer work I aim to keep this work separate from my therapy work, if these worlds intersect we can always talk about how best to proceed.

Do you have a specific therapeutic approach?

My therapeutic approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gestalt and Narrative Therapy. I take a trauma-informed approach, honoring the moments when things have gone wrong while creating space to explore new ways of thinking.
